T.E.D.S.Simply stated T.E.D.S is a system consisting of a small number of combative tactics that can increase an operators and/or civilian’s chance of survival in a deadly force situation. The combative tactics are based on Gross Motor Skills and are not complex or difficult to learn with practice. These combative techniques have been streamlined and are very useful in disarming someone with a knife, gun, or club. There are several key components of T.E.D.S., Critical Perimeter Line (CPL) being the foremost. The next and most important is moving your body out of the line of fire. The next step is stopping the delivery system. From that point it is a 3 step process. (1). Stop it/Direct it (2). Wrap/Trap it and (3) Attack/Eliminate it. Strikes used in T.E.D.S.; blade hand, web hand, finger-eye jab, hammer fist, head butt, knee-elbow strikes, inverted-angle kick, elbow smash, shoulder lock, and palm heel. |
